Our mission is to actively collaborate with recovery communities, Single County Authorities (SCAs), service providers, and various payor groups across the entire twelve-county region. Through these partnerships, we aim to provide comprehensive support to individuals on their recovery journey, empowering them to overcome challenges and reach their fullest potential. By working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, we ensure that our efforts are aligned with the specific needs of each community, fostering a holistic approach to recovery that addresses both individual and systemic factors. This project receives critical funding support, in part, through a Grant Agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, enabling us to expand our reach and impact.

At the heart of our initiative is a commitment to linking individuals, families, and organizations with the essential tools, resources, and services they need to thrive. By embracing multiple pathways to recovery, we acknowledge that each person’s journey is unique and requires tailored support. Our goal is to engage with these diverse approaches to recovery, working to dismantle barriers that hinder progress, while fostering a deeper understanding and acceptance of the recovery process. Through advocacy and education, we seek to promote not only personal growth but also systemic change, addressing the underlying factors that impact recovery at a broader level. Ultimately, we strive to create an environment where both individuals and communities can flourish, laying the groundwork for long-term, sustainable development in the realm of addiction recovery.

Region 8

Recovery Hubs were created across Pennsylvania through a grant program initiated by the state’s
Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP).

“DDAP is supporting a Recovery-Oriented-System of Care (ROSC) by establishing a Recovery Hub and Spoke model. Nine (9) Regional Recovery Hubs will be established to work in partnership with recovery community leaders to conduct ongoing needs assessment through surveys and focus groups and provide technical assistance to organizations providing recovery supports that will enhance and promote recovery within each region. Community driven services will serve as the Spokes.”

DDAP identified north central Pennsylvania as Region 8. This region includes the following counties: Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, and Union. West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission (WBDAAC), located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, applied and was awarded the grant for this region.

WBDAAC has conducted a needs assessment as required by partnering with the Single County Authorities (SCAs) for the region and conducting Listening Sessions and Focus Groups in each county. Through these Listening Sessions and Focus Groups, WBDAAC has connected with over 170 individuals concerned about recovery in the region. These include recovering people, family, friends, allies, and people working in the treatment and recovery field. These sessions helped the individuals working on the project to identify the strengths for supporting recovery reflected in this image.
